Let’s face it: people get hurt. It is an inevitable probability that some day, somewhere, someone is going to get hurt somehow. You might think that you are immune to such common injuries as neck sprains and muscle spasms, that you are somehow greater than most humans on the planet, but the simple fact is that you are not. You will end up in a neck brace at some point in your life, maybe you already have. Here are three of the most popular reasons you could find yourself in a neck brace. Maybe if you know some of the ways you could get hurt you can do something to prevent them.
Car Accident:
Automobile related injuries are some of the most common injuries out there. Car accidents occur regularly all over the country and people are getting hurt in them. You might think you are a good driver and your record might be immaculate but the odds are against you. For every amazing driver there is on the road there are ten horrible drivers that think they are amazing. The reason a car accident is going to put you in a neck brace is simple: whiplash. When the force of another car stops the movement of your car dead in its tracks, you are going to whip forward and hurt your neck.
Poor Posture:
Everyone slouches. It seems like good posture and spine structure have gone out the window in favor of hunched shoulders and scoliosis. It might be because we spend too much time on the Internet reading frivolous, though hopefully humorous, articles and watching YouTube videos or it might just be that our monkey spines are begging us to touch our knuckles back down to the ground. Poor posture can strain your neck and cause your muscles to spasm if you use them too much. You can use a neck brace or a back brace to help fix the problem.
Sleeping Wrong:
Your bed should be the most comfortable place on the planet; it should be cushy and fluffy and never cause you any harm… but it will. If you sleep on a soft bed you run the risk of falling asleep in a bad position. If you sleep with a curve in your neck you could woke up with it frozen solid in place and painful to move. A neck brace is your only option if you wake up this way.
