Alcoholism Is The Curse

April 24, 2010

In today’s  society Drug and Alcohol Addiction is growing at an alarming rate.  The sad part of it is, that young children are now beginning to be affected more and more each day.

These children are to young to realize what the outcome may bring by them adventuring into this  harmful world of addiction.

We as adults should be smart enough to realize our outcome in life do to our addiction to drugs or alcohol but, we tend just not to pay any attention to what our bodies are telling us.

We all start out with experimenting with drugs or alcohol, just having a good old time and partying away.  I say this because I was one of these people.

These addictions can sneak up on us silently and slowly without us realizing it.  Once we get to a certain stage is when our demons take over.  They have grabbed us and taken hold of our lives and our bodies giving us no power to retreat.

Alcoholism is the Curse for many of us including myself.  We  really don’t realize the different effects that alcoholism has not only to ourselves but many other people in our lives.

So if you really think about it when there is alcoholism in a family who really suffers?  I never thought about who I was hurting when I drank, it never crossed my mind.  But, I can tell you now being sober that I put my family in some real misery do to my addiction.

I am ashamed of what I have done and never saw it.  Now being sober and having Sobriety back into my life I can relate to all families that are struggling with a loved one to try to help them to become sober and return to a normal life again.

One thing I have learned in my journey to sobriety is that I always now keep a Positive Attitude in everything I do.  By doing so it will help you greatly towards the road to Recovery.

The bottom line here is that no one wants to live with an alcoholic.  So the next time we decide to tilt that bottle, just take a moment and look around you and see who else you are abusing besides yourself.
