With a steady and disciplined approach to training, you can maximize your chances of running at your peak level of performance. Here are two <a href="http://runningtips4all.com/">running tips</a> for getting the most out of your marathon training:</p>
<h3>Cross-Training</h3>
<p>Cross-training allows you to work and rest at the same time. At least, it lets you take a rest from your running. Cross-training is any aerobic activity that does not involve running, such as swimming or cycling. Stretching and weight training could be included as well. These alternative activities help to keep you in good shape while giving your body a break from the pounding of long distance running.</p>
<p>A good plan for beginners is to schedule a cross-training day on the weekend, on the day before or after you do your long run. For more advanced runners, you should cross-train on the day after your long run. Be sure to keep your effort moderate, so as not to interfere with the recovery from your long run.</p>
<h3>Pace Work</h3>
<p>To succeed at running a marathon, the correct pace is essential. If you try to run too fast, you will crash and probably never even make it to the finish line. No matter what your level of running, you have to know what the correct pace feels like in order to accomplish it.</p>
<p>You do this by doing some training at your ideal marathon pace. However, it takes some skill and practice to determine what the right pace for you should be.  An example workout can be found at <a href="http://runningtips4all.com/the-10-x-800-marathon-workout/">Running Tips 4 All</a>.</p>
<p>As an alternative, you can estimate your marathon pace in two different ways. You can use your most recent half-marathon time and multiply by 2.1, or you can use your best recent 10K finishing time and multiply by 4.65.</p>

<p>The main reason why this is happening is because people tend to get weight loss help from the wrong places. Most of the times they fall into the traps of the so-called &#8216;miracle diets&#8217;, promising that if you follow a certain diet you will lose 10 pounds in 2 weeks. Something that cannot happen and in the cases that it happens it is not healthy and it is also guaranteed that after you stop the diet you will gain the weight back and sometimes more.</p>

<p>1. Understand how your metabolism works</p>
<p>Our body metabolism works in such a way so as to protect us when we do not eat enough food. During a strict weight loss diet our metabolism becomes slower in an effort to reserve energy. By becoming slower this essentially means that it starts burning less calories then it normally should in order to save more energy.</p>
<p>2. Modern way of living</p>
<p>It is more difficult to lose weight in our times because there are so many temptations you cannot resist. There are lots of fast food restaurants where you can eat fast and cheap. Unfortunately these are also full fat foods and unhealthy. More and more people due to other activities tend to skip home made meals and buy either take away or eat out in a restaurant. This does not help someone&#8217;s weight loss efforts. Two decades ago this situation was not as intense as it is today. People used to cook at home and enjoyed healthier meals and life.</p>
<p>Also, more and more people are doing office work which does not help in burning calories. If you combine that with the fast food and office snacks you end up being overweight. It is also a fact that the time you have for physical activity and exercise is greatly reduced.</p>
<p>All the above factors contribute to the fact that a vast majority of people end up overweight.</p>

That&#8217;s why I have made a list of the top 10 foods to eat to lose weight.</p>
<p><strong>1. Lean protein</strong></p>
<p>Lean protein helps the body to build muscle. The process of building muscle increases the metabolism and makes you burn calories even in your sleep.</p>
<p><strong>2. Whole grain carbs</strong></p>
<p>Whole grain, brown carbs and baby potatoes are some of the best carbs as they supply the body with energy throughout the day.</p>
<p><strong>3. Fruit</strong></p>
<p>Fruit is an excellent snack to chew on as it is low in calories and full in fibre &#8211; keeping you full all day.</p>
<p><strong>4. Vegetables</strong></p>
