This is a great reason to get outside, will give you some low impact exercise, and can be a great way to relieve stress. Walking a dog for half an hour can burn up to 300 calories, which translates to around 6000 calories burned per month, just from walking the dog. And, your dog will be healthier and happier too.
You don’t have to stop there, take your dog to the park, take it on hikes, or play ball. A dog can be a great excess to get outside and get active. Dogs can lead to more happy family time and great bonding experiences.
Who ever though loosing weight could be so easy. Loosing weight is about changing your lifestyle not going on the latest fad diet. Getting a dog can lead to some huge lifestyle changes, many of them for the better.
One of the best cardio workouts I do is totally dog based. I warm up by walking my dog to a large open field by my house, this takes about 15 minutes one way. We then run sprints, she loves it and sprinting with a dog clipping at your heals is a blast. She can outrun me no problem but she loves the game. Sprints are one of the best ways to build an incredible level of fitness but they are also very physically challenging and mentally taxing. Running them with my dog virtually takes the pain away. I find myself trying not to laugh half the time.
Quick weight loss is tough but forcing lifestyle changes on your self can go a long way towards causing you to loose weight without even realizing it.
